Harry entered the seedy pub and grimaced slightly. He'd been to worse places trying to find anything that compared to the night he had with hannah and Zach. He was hurt that niether one contacted him after that night.
A quick scan of the interior of the pub was all he needed to find several redheads clustered together. He started acrosss the pub and saw a very familiar blond standing woodenly just at the edge of the group with his eyes locked on to something that was obviously bothering him.
Harry made a quick decision and went up to Zach and pulled him into his arms and kissed him. His tongue slipped past Zach's surprised lips and he stroked Zach's tongue with his own. After a moment he released Zach and looked back to the group staring at them. Harry wrapped an arm around Zach's waist and pressed himself to the taller man's side.
"Hullo Charlie," he said with a grin, "Congratulations on finally tying the knot. Hullo Ron, long time."
Zach just stood there, in shock. The feeling of Harry's kiss and their night together were burned in his memories. He really wanted a relationship and it seemed like Ron wasn't interested or else didn't want him. Was it possible that Harry could be what he had been looking for all along?
After another few moments of thought, he leaned into Harry and whispered in his ear, "We need to talk later. But that has to be the nicest hello I've received in a long time." Zach blushed as he said it, his arm coming around Harry's waist as well.
Ron was admittedly a little relieved when Desi got her own seat, but he couldn't help but feel a flash of hurt when he saw Harry kiss Zach. Then again, Zach and Harry could kiss whoever the bloody hell they wanted. He hadn't exactly made a move on Zach, had he? Even with Zach's flirting he hadn't responded.
"Hey, Zach. Harry."
I'm fucked up, Ron thought, taking a long drink of his pint. Watching Zach with Harry, though, he was actually a little glad that he hadn't. Zach seemed to be the sort of person who wanted a proper relationship and Ron had never been good at relationships.
It was quite a relief to realise all this.
Sipping his drink and cast a glance at John. He'd be going back to Romania after the wedding. Hundreds of miles away. Ron frowned to himself as he thought about this. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.
Ron held his breath as John squeezed out from behind the table, his legs brushing against Ron's. "Uh, yeah." He paused for a moment, weighing up his options as he quickly glanced over at Harry and Zach.
"Actually, I'll come with you. I think Char needs another drink. Can't have the groom getting thirsty, can we?"
Ron's lips curved into a smirk as he took his new drink. "Hmm. Maybe. Never been to Romania. Visited Bill in Egypt once, but that was years ago. Got forced into it by our parents." He laughed. "We tried to shut our brother Percy into a pyramid once."
He looked slyly at John. "And what would the benefits of going to Romania be? What would I have to look forward to?"
"I bet you do," Ron remarked taking a sip of his drink.
He grinned at John, enjoying the idea of flirting with someone and knowing that there would be no real repercussions because they'd both be going their separate ways in a week. "And what sort of sights did you have in mind?"
Ron considered this with a small smile. "I dunno. You're probably more knowledgeable than me," he said quietly.
He looked over at the table, frowning. "So who's bright idea was it to go to Spearmint Grindylows, then? Not exactly my scene." He eyed John. "Or yours, I'm guessing." Ron grinned. "It was Desi, wasn't it?"
Zach blushed even redder and shook his head. "There really hasn't been much time up to now. I've been trying to get a large portion of my interviews finished and there was Ron before..." He looked down at his shoes before looking over at the bar where Ron and Charlie's friend were. "I guess that isn't an issue anymore, so I'm free."
Zach signed and squared his shoulders. "No, its fine. I came to have a good time and to give Charlie a good send off into marriage. I had hints that Ron wasn't really interested and I chose to ignore them. I'll be fine."
He poured himself a full glass of firewhiskey and downed it in one large gulp. "I think I'm behind everyone else and I have some catching up to do..."
