Lavender smiled, albeit it nervously, when Charlie winked at her.

She closed her eyes for a moment when the minister started the service, trying to calm herself. Why people got nervous on their wedding day was beyond her, even though she was experiencing it herself.

The minister smiled at the congregation. "Friends, we have been invited here today to share with Charlie and Lavender a most important moment in their lives. In the time they have been together their love and understanding of each other has grown and matured. Now they have decided to live their lives together as husband and wife."

Lavender found herself staring at Charlie, concentrating just on his face and what was being said.

"We have been invited to hear Charlie and Lavender as they promise to face the future together," the minister continued, "accepting whatever may lie ahead. For the world, with its beauty and grace that is all around, with the strength that it offers and the peace that it brings, makes them truly grateful."

The minister looked at them both, smiling. "Real love is something beyond the warmth and glow, the excitement and romance of being deeply in love. It is caring as much about the welfare and happiness of your marriage partner as about your own. But real love is not total absorption in each other; it is looking outward in the same direction - together. Love makes burdens lighter, because you divide them. It make joys more intense because you share them. It makes you stronger so you can reach out and become involved with life in ways you dared not risk alone."

Looking up, he asked, "Who brings Lavender to stand beside Charlie?"

Duncan and Hyacinth rose from their seats. "We do."

"Then you may be seated." The minister turned to Charlie. "Charles Weasley, will you take Lavender to be your wife? Will you love and respect her? Will you be honest with her always? Will you stand by her through whatever may come? Will you make whatever adjustments are necessary so that you can genuinely share your life with her?"

Charlie took a deep breath and nodded. “I do,” he said gravely.

He then looked up and asked “And who brings Charlie to stand beside Lavender?” There was a sniffle by Molly as she rose and Arthur said, “we do.”

“Then you may be seated.”

He turned to Lavender. “Lavender Brown, will you take Charlie to be your husband? Will you love and respect him? Will you be honest with him always? Will you stand by him through whatever may come? Will you make whatever adjustments are necessary so that you can genuinely share your life with him?"”

Before Lavender could say anything, there was a loud gurgle from Rosie, causing a ripple of laughter to spread.

Lavender sniffed, biting her lip as she tried not to laugh at Rosie's little interruption. Something about Rosie's gurgle, though, seemed to break the tension that Lavender had been feeling.

"I do," she said softly.

They exchanged rings with shaking hands, and saying their vows with voices that were probably shaking just as much. Lavender was sure that she nearly dropped Charlie's as she tried to put it on his finger, trying to get the words out properly and not choke up with tears. She knew that the tears were threatening to fall, but told herself that she could cry after if she needed to.

The minister smiled. "Charlie and Lavender, we have heard you promise to share your lives in marriage. We recognize and respect the vows you have made. It is not a minister standing before you that makes your marriage real, but the honesty and sincerity of what you have said and done before everyone here today."

He looked up at the congregation.

"For as Charlie and Lavender have consented together in wedlock, and have witnessed the same before you all, by the authority committed unto me, I declare that Charlie and Lavender are now husband and wife." His smiled widened. "You may now kiss the bride."

Charlie said softly “I know that” as he bent down and gave Lavender a chaste kiss. A small ripple of applause rippled through the congregation and Charlie laughed at that.

Rosie, who was sitting on Hyacinth’s lap, threw down her rattle and surprised everyone by managing a distinct “Da da.” Charlie reached for her, despite a faintly disapproving look from his mother.

“Don’t cry, kitten,” he said softly as he adjusted Rose on his hip.

Lavender was laughing and crying at the same time. "I can't help it!" she told him quietly.

The minister clear his throat. He continued with a large smile. "Now the ceremony is over and the experience of living day by day as married people is about to begin. Go forth to meet it, gladly, love life so it will love you. May blessings of God be with you."

Spreading his arms, he finished, "I now present to you Mr and Mrs Weasley."

Lavender grinned and kissed Charlie again as the recessional music started to play and there was the sound of several cameras being used.

Charlie’s ears had turned pink and he ran his hand through his hair before taking Lavender’s hand as the walked up back up the aisle.

They stood at the entrance to greet people as they left to go to the reception and before they could say anything, Fleur gave them both a big hug, crying.

Lavender sniffed, laughing as Fleur hugged them both. Rosie gave a cry of amusement, beaming at everyone who was lavishing attention on her. Yes, Rosie definitely liked having lots of attention.

When Molly and Arthur emerged from the garden, Molly hugged Lavender tightly. Lavender let out a sob as her new mother-in-law held her, trying her best not to break down in tears. "Welcome to the family, Lavender," she told her, Molly clearly as emotional as they had expected. "Officially," she added when Rosie let out a, "Gah!" and reached out her hands towards Nana Molly.

Charlie let Molly take Rosie and Roise contented herself with sucking an fistful of Molly's top.

Then before he knew it, Hyacinth had swooped down and gathered him into a hug. He slightly awkwardly patted her on the back as she sobbed into his shoulder and told him to look after her little girl.

FInally managing to disentangle themselves from their mother-in-laws and emotional bridesmaids, Lavender watched as the last guest went off to the Great Hall. The ceremony had started at just after four o'clock, and the other guests who were just invited to the reception would be arriving at about half past five. Lavender had no idea what time it was at that precise moment, though, as the only thing she could think about was Charlie.

She turned to him, breathlessly saying, "We did it!" as she hugged him.

Charlie hugged her close and kissed the top of her head. "We did indeed, Mrs Weasley."

He looked around at the empty space and listened to the chatter drifting from the nogregated people. "Do you think they'd notice if we disappeared back home now? I want my wife to myself for a little while."

Lavender laughed at the use of her new name. She licked her lips, looking up at Charlie with shining eyes.

"I think we might have a little while," she agreed. "Not long, though. I think people would notice if the bride and groom disappeared for too long."
